Back to School

Where did the summer go? I cannot believe my kiddos went back to school this week. In the Alpine School District they have two tracts. You can either go to school from 8 - 2:15 or 9:15 - 3:30. The hour before and the hour later is when the teacher can do more one on one with the kids. When we first moved to Lehi we were "early birds (8 - 2:15)." When I started having babies and not getting alot sleep at night we changed to "later gators (9:15 - 3:30)." We have done this for the last couple years.

While since every Friday afternoon I was checking the kids out early for something or the other and Macee had to be out at Pleasant Grove at 3:30 for dance 2 days a week I told them it was time to switch back! It has been wonderful! We wake up early and get so much done at the house before the phone starts ringing!

Mick is in 6th grade this year! His teacher is Mrs. Edwards who is a huge Utah fan and married to Lovell Edwards nephew!! Mick got a kick out of that. The first two days of school while they were working she took requests on her Ipod and Mick thought it was awesome that his teacher let them listen to "Halo" and "... tonight's going to be a good night." She is a younger gal who is expecting her first baby the 1st of October... He actually wore something besides athletic shorts for the first day of school. Go Mick!!!

Macee Jo Jo is in 3rd grade this year. She was ever so excited to find out that her 1st grade teacher, whom she loved, was going to be her 3rd grade teacher this year! Mrs. Robinson and Macee truly adore each other.

When Macee walked into her room on back to school night Mrs Robinson yelled and gave her a big hug. She said, "Macee... when I found out you were on my list I almost did a back flip." Therefore... Macee is super excited about the school year.

This is in the car right before I dropped them off!

The only concern Macee has is she feels like they are back in 1st grade. I tried to explain that it's just Mrs. Robinsons teaching preference to do the Journals like she does and it might seem alot like the same thing but harder!!! Macee is a silly girl!

As for Murphy.... he carried this big pink teddy bear around last weekend after his diagnosis and has been absolutely perfect ever since. Not one of the kids has shown any signs of the swine flu so we feel very blessed!

Sorry... forgot to turn the picture before I posted and don't have the time to re-do! We have been having a super lazy weekend. Thanks to my husband who has taken such great care of me and my kiddos!! Maybe he thinks he will get a Loritab in return after I get feeling better! The wisdom teeth surgery went fabulous and I am feeling pretty alright! Hope everyones kiddos had a great first week back!

The Good... The Bad... and The PLAIN UGLY!!!!

So the Good...
(This is the oldes pic of have of Maddux on my computer... May 2007! I don't own a scanner... I know... pathetic... He LOVED this pic with Cinderella!)

My Maddog turned 6 on August 1st! I feel horrible that I missed blogging about it but I honestly feel like we were in Vegas... Cleveland... home a few days... Idaho... home a few days... California!! No excuses.... this little boy is a joy!!! 6 special things about Maddux:

1. He is my competitive boy. It's always a challenge or who can throw farther or hit farther or run faster or.... you get my point!!! I think this will either get him locked up or take him far in life!!! (Just Kidding).

2. He is a best friend to 2 little brothers. He is much bigger than both of them but loves spending time with his BFF's (Gwy and Mayser).

3. He thinks he is 11! Why can't I have a sleepover??? Why can't I go to the pool? Can I go to Tigers practice? Can I stay with the team when they go to New York? Luckily... Mick's friends are pretty darn cool about including the kid!

4. He's a sleeper. The kid is still taking naps. Not by my demand. This past year I told him he had "rest" time while the boys had naps. Ya... that lasts for about 5 minutes and he sleeps an hour longer than any of them.

5. He idolized Mick.... Need I say more... hopefully he picks up a few of Mick's quieter traits before too long!

6. He is my precious... big blue eyes... softy. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is a little sensitive.. Although the appendix thing was a tough one this year I am so thankful for the week that I got with just Maddux. Laying in bed and holding him for 7 days. He is a precious little man! Happy Birthday Bud!

Another Good....

Just returned from a week in California. Eric does a camp up there for 4 days so this was the schedule. Wake up with dad at 7.... he would go to camp... we would go to Disneyland! We fast passed all the big rides throughout the morning and early afternoon and let the little guys do their thing and meet characters and ride the tee-cups (gag!). Go home around 1 for a nice 3 hour nap. Eric returns around 5... we order in dinner... and go to the park again until around 10 or 11 and use all our fast passes. Repeat 5 days and come home! Sounds boring but there was nothing boring about it! We had a great time and it was fun to hang out with the kids. A little exhausting at times but fun nonetheless!!! A few pics to share (I had like 200 of them!).

The Bad.....

School starts in 6 days! Uggghhhh.... although I am looking forward to a more scheduled lifestyle... I love having my kids hanging out with me at home! Macee would just come and read and write in my office while I work and it was nice letting them sleep until 10 every morning!

THE PLAIN UGLY....

So many of you will remember my last post. Murphy had been having a pretty crappy week.... While he seemed to be on the mend.... I was so glad because he was staying with Grandma Vic and Aunt Em while we were in California. I would have loved to take him but 5 kids by myself at the park was good! I was so worried I would loose 1! Anyway, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to these ladies! I called daily because I was so worried that he would be a pill. Every time I called they said how amazing he was... good sleeper... just happy boy! The only problem was he had the diarrhea pretty badly but wasn't affecting his good nature!

So... the first day I was home he was a bit clingy. I thought he just missed me... the next day... irritable and clingy... 3rd day (which is today) woke up with a high fever and flat out grouchy! Watched him throughout the day and around 4 o'clock I decided I better see if I could get him checked out. I didn't want to get to the weekend and be doing InstaCare! The verdict....

SWINE FLU!!!!

Are you kidding me? Seriously? That is all I will say. Not concerned... it's just a flu but I do not look forward to it sweeping through this home of 8! The best part is Eric is out of town until tomorrow! I shall survive! Anyway, rather than putting the big red flag in front of my house which says "Enter at your own risk... Swine Flu..." I thought I could just blog about it and let you know we shan't be leaving the house for a bit! All Maddux had to say was, "I told you he shouldn't have touched those pigs at the park." (Inside joke). During the Lehi Roundup days there was like a small petting zoo and the boys went to touch the pigs and Maddux yelled, "don't touch the pigs... you will get swine flu." Gotta love those little men!

Aside from Murphy feeling crappy... I did prepare his favorite meal tonight... french fries from Arctic Circle. And he still managed to drink the fry sauce! We love you Murphy.... hope you get feeling better VERY soon!

(Just realized I lost 1/2 my pictures on my cam). Will have to post more Disney pictures and the cute pics of Murphy drinking fry sauce next month when I blog!)
