Happy Hump Day!!!

To all my friends who need to get their head out of the gutter, hump day is Wed - ya know... the middle of the week!!! Anyway, today was McGwire's first official day of baseball camp. He is 3 years old and called his dad on the phone this morning and said, "I'm big daddy, please let me come to camp...." So we got him all duded up for camp (doesn't he look adorable) and off he went. He was super excited... Well - about 10:30 (camp started at 9), Eric called me to inform me he was done. He told his dad he was done and was ready to go home. I luckily had a meeting on 800 North at 9:30 and hadn't headed back to the house so I hurry and ran by and picked him up... he then played extremely hard the rest of the day with cousins and this is what I found when I was getting everyone ready for bed.... I love you big man!!!And this is Mick's war wound from bball camp. I know it just looks like an every day raspberry but it is really swollen and puffy! I remember when Eric and I were dating and we did a coed softball tourney (believe it or not, that is actually how Eric and I met) and I slid with shorts on. It hurt like a bugger and mine, like Mick's, also swole up really bad. Sorry bud - I would say it makes him look tough but his dad told him it just makes him look like an idiot. He had asked one of the instructors at the camp if he could dive for balls on the warning track... Hello Mick.... maybe next time he won't be trying to show off!!!This is my two little guys and our friends, Joldy and Megans, 2 little girls. Joldy played for Eric down at Eastern Utah and then played in the Rangers organization for a few years following. They just had their 3rd and final little girl and had had to make a trip to Utah to go to the airport. They stopped by to let us see the new addition and we had alot of fun visiting. Their little girls are adorable!!!

This afternoon most of the Madsen cousins came over while the big cousins floated down the Provo river. After awhile we weren't sure how to keep them busy so Maddog had this great idea that he wanted to paint the new horse that our friends, the Mortimers had given us. This was an awesome hand-me-down. There has been a kid on this thing since it was brought over last week. Thanks guys! But Maddux did point out that it needed a new paint job so we got out all the paints and let the kids go at it. It occupied them for over a half hour. They were covered with paint from head to toe!

This was the finished product. Isn't it beautiful. I had to giggle at cute little Peighty. She had all these boy cousins that took of their shirts and she decided to hang right there with em! You go girl!
This is the newest addition to our family. The kids have named him Melky!!! He is the rock chuck that lives in the pile of wood outside the front of our new house. He is really huge and it is exciting to see him. He is pretty shy and goes away quickly so we have to try and find him upon arriving at the cite or we miss out...
I loved this pic. The other night it got really quiet around the house. I savor those moments so I didn't worry too much. After about 5 minutes I decided I better see what Mays was destroying so quietly and I found this in my shower!!! It was so darn cute and they seriously stayed in for another 10 minutes!
Last but not least here is my cute Mayser in Maddogs new hat he supposedly found (or as Austin would say, stole) from the field yesterday!
We had a great time at Cleveland Days. Right now I am just way frustrated because I put the cutest slideshow together on Photobucket and it won't work so I will have to go make another tomorrow. I am way too tired tonight! Mick has Tournament of Champions this weekend up in Heber City. This is the big tourney of the year. You have to qualify and since we are the reigning "champions" from last year's tourney we qualified. I am excited to watch some good, competitive bball!!! This is the top 8 teams in Utah and Nevada! Go Tigers!!!

Another Week for the Madsens!!!

Well HELLO..... Long time, no blog... I really have to quit doing this once a week!! Be ready for a few pics! We haven't had a ton going this week. Mick's Lehi city league team went to State. I wasn't able to attend all the games because I have this thing called a job... boy does that stink huh? But they did okay... I will go into detail further in the post. This first pic is of cute Murphy under his jungle gym... He LOVES this pink pig. He snuggles it, hugs it, talks to it. So funny!!! He is growing so quickly. He has started giggling which is just awesome. There is no sweeter sound than a little goo from a baby!

The top pic is of our friends, the Burgi's, twin boys Carter and Kenji. They are 16 months old and so stinkin cute!!! Coach Gardner had us all out for a BBQ and it was soooo fun! He had the horses saddled and the 4-wheelers ready. My kids LOVE his farm. We all came home with 1000 mosquito bites but they are almost gone now. I loved the pic below. It is the twins and Gwire and I thought it was hilarious that Kenji was trying to sneak a few bites of McGwire's ice cream cone! These 3 boys loved the swing!

A little house update. As you can see it is coming along quite well. We will have the windows next week and plumbers, electricians and heating and cooling is all lined up for next week also! It is hard to tell but from left to right is my niece, Kaitlyn, of course poser Macee, and then niece Kira. The girls came in yesterday from Texas and we are so darn glad to have them home!
This is an updated pic of Janet's cute little Chloe. She is REALLY starting to look just like Janet's baby pictures!!! She is so pretty!

The above pic could be one of my favorite pics ever. Maddux idolizes Mick. When he heard Mick was playing his final games this particular day, he went and geared up. He begged me to let him go to the park early and warm up with Mick and the team. Mick was a good sport and went along with it! I thought they looked so cute. Okay - so I don't brag much... but am very proud of my kids. The last game of the tourney Mick did awesome. It was either sink or swim so the coach allowed him to throw (pitch) the entire game. In the six innings that he threw he allowed 2 hits and struck out 14 batters. There were 3 innings he struck out the side. Unfortunately we had a few errors and we ended up loosing. Going into the last inning we were down 6-2. This little team came back and tied it 6-6. They were so excited!! But... the other team was the home team and we ended up loosing. Mick actually got a little emotional, which is so out of character for him. I was surprised and asked him what was up... he said, "After tying it up in the last inning I really felt like the other kids on my team deserved to win. They all played so hard." I was proud of this 10 year old. We love you Mick. So here is a little play by play of his delivery!!!

Last but not least, here is Maddog in the car, on our way home from the park. Exhausted. That is how I am feeling right now (must I admit it's almost 2 am!!!) We are going down to Cleveland Days tomorrow evening. Call me pathetic but I LOVE this celebration. I get to see all my old friends, clients and family and they have the best fireworks show EVER. I am sure I will have a few cute pics the first of next week. Til then.....

Memory Tag

OK, I thought this was a cute and fun idea, so I copied Carrie, from her blog. Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (Keep it G, I have alot of people fooled about by past!!!)

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Clarification

Before I get myself in big trouble I better clarify that Eric's sisters are both WAY younger than my old husband!!! (Ok - am I out of hot water now?)

Happy BDay Traci and Ang

Since I am a bad sister-in law and forgot to call Traci I thought I would redeem myself and give them a shout out on the blog. I will have good intentions to call Ang tomorrow but I am sure it won't happen so... Happy Birthday to Eric's older sisters! HAHA!! Love ya!

Life Lessons Learned...

So what have I learned from grounding myself from blogging? Not a good idea. It takes alot longer to "catch up on life" when you are so far behind. Hence the 10 posts and slideshows. Hope you have a good half hour because I did "posting overload."

Life Lesson Learned.... Murphy has learned to hold a bottle! What a smart 3 month old! He is getting so big so fast. I love the little munchkin!!!

Life Lesson Learned... You can't be sucking on a Yankee's Binky wearing a Cardinals, Mark McGwire jersey. Are you kidding me? Only Carrie... Can you believe she found this for Gwire. It fits him perfect. He has honestly not taken it off now for 2 days. I am going to have to peel it off him tomorrow or he is going to start being the Stinky Boy!!! Thanks a ton Carrie! He LOVES it. As do I.

Life Lesson Learned.... Trust in God's plan. Have faith in his process. We attended the memorial for baby Mac last week. For those of you who don't know Josh, he is a big guy... what.. I am guessing 6'6" maybe 230 (am I right Cali?). Watching him carry this tiny casket from the hurst to the burial plot was heart wrenching. I will never forget this and to me, I felt like no daddy should ever, EVER have to do this. It was just not fair. I watched throughout the beautiful ceremony, Josh lovingly wipe the tears from Cali's face. He was a rock. Absolutely phenomenal the strength that he had. I have to admit... I have been totally consumed with the passing of baby Mac. My heart has ached every minute of the day for Josh and Cali. I have been very angry and bitter and have a hard time dealing with it. I have asked the "why's" and "if only's" thousands of times a day.
Today, thanks to Josh's big sister, Erin, my feelings have been channeled a different direction. If you have a chance please link to her blog http://mikerinandbryson.blogspot.com/ and read her "Why" post. It has seriously been an enormous help in this process. Baby Mac has been a missionary to many! At the end of the ceremony they had asked that we bring a yellow, red or orange balloon. The hundreds of balloons sent up to heaven was so uplifting. I wanted to share this picture of my friends children. They didn't attend the service but on Baby Mac's blog it had said that if you weren't able to attend you could let off your balloons in memory of baby Mac at a certain time. This was touching. Thanks Carrie for being there to talk to and let out my anger to about this situation.
Josh and Cali - we love you and have been sincerely touched by your faith and strength! Your story has touched many.

Happy 4th of July!!

So we were heading back from Park City Sunday afternoon and we got a phone call from the Madsens inviting us to come up to Syracuse and do fireworks. Why not - it's always a fun time getting together. So here is ANOTHER slideshow - sorry!!! Thanks to Uncle Scottie for putting together the great firework display. The highlight of the night was when a blanket caught fire (darned sparklers). Em freaked out and was just screaming and my adorable husband tried to BLOW it out. I will keep this post G rated but come on Eric.... Anyway, after figuring that it wasn't going to work - they threw the blanket around and stomped on it. Wish I had a video... it was hilarious!!!!

Fireworks at the Madsens!!

Put me in Coach!!!!

Well, guess what the Madsens did over the 4th of July. You guessed it... baseball tourney in Park City. It was so fun. We decided at the last minute that even though we were only 45 minutes from home, we hadn't taken the kids and stayed anywhere fun since Disneyland last July!!! So we booked a condo. It was a blast. The team did really well and ended up loosing the Championship game. Grandpa Pete was of course a trooper and drove up and back all 3 days. I love this man to death and love the way he supports our kiddos.

We celebrated Wacky's 5th BDay at good ol' McDonalds! We were trying to go somewhere else but it was the 4th and everything was closed early. It was fun and the kids I am sure preferred McDonalds! Wacky is such a cute little guy and we are glad we got to share his birthday. Maddux is jealous because he says Wacky (Jaxon) gets fireworks on his birthday every year. How fair is that?

We had promised the kids we would do the Alpine slide. We didn't have any time on Thur, Fri or Sat so we were total Sabbath Day Breakers and we did the slides that day. Sorry - it is true!! We had a blast. We went with another player on Mick's team and their family the Willeys. It was tons of fun and gave us the chance to get to know this family better. Mick is going to kill me for putting the pic of he and Trev on the carousel. I thought it was hilarious! Thanks to Brittany for being the babysitter. She had a headache so she sat with Murph while we took turns on the slide and roller coaster!

Yeah Baby....

UVUphoria

So - UV officially became a University on July 1st! This was also Eric's first day as the Head Coach of UVU so we decided to Party HARD!!! We, along with 15,000 other people, went to celebrate at the stadium. Josh Grayson, Collin Ray and Joe Nichols were in concert. I love Collin Ray cuz I am kinda old school country and I knew most all of his songs! Anyway, we went with some friends of ours and I hope it's okay I put these pictures! One of my bestest friends ever is cute Em (the one holding McGwire). This gal has more personality than you can imagine. She is always there to save my butt. Our other friends, the Schoony's will soon be our neighbors. There family is so dang cute. I loved the pic of them dancing with their kids. We had a great time.
