So this is a pic of my dad. He told me if I started putting pictures of him on the internet he would kick my ***! But I thought since I had this cute picture I would put in a little comment on my dad. For those of you who know me you know that I am a "daddy's girl." I love my dad to death! I always said I wanted to marry someone just like my dad. As different as my dad and Eric are, they are so much the same in so many ways. First of all they both have a quick whit and are the biggest smart a's ever!!! Second of all, they could both tease someone to the point of tears. I was down in Cleveland this last weekend and all he would do is look at my big belly and laugh! But on the softer side, they have both provided for me so wonderfully and loved me so much.
My dad is my hero. He has worked in the coalmines since he was 18! My mom has never had to work a day in her life. In fact, when we were in Emery County he used to tell her that as long we we were working her only job was to take care of the grandkids, which she so gladly did (bless her heart). My dad is very thick skinned and puts on a great front but he would do anything for anybody!
I can count on a phone call from my dad every day around 5 or 6. It never fails that he will call to check and see how our day went and talk to the kids. The one regret I have about leaving Cleveland was the fact that my kids (especially my Mick) was SOOOOOO close to their grandpa and got to see him daily! He would wait to hear my dad's diesel truck coming down the road (home from work) and would be out the door in a second waiting for him on his doorstep. (We lived 2 houses down).
I know I will never talk my dad into moving to the "**ity city," as he so kindly calls it, but I am glad he has softened a little and comes to visit once in a while! He will probably never read this but if so "I love you dad!!!"

I love what you wrote about your Dad. I was laughing about the "***tty city". So funny.....
You're lucky to have such a great relationship with him. That's probably why you're so FABULOUS today!! (seriously!) I don't have a good relationship with MY Dad, so I'm envious of that. I think that's why I am so concerned with my kids having that. You know?? No wonder you had such a hard time leaving them.... It seems like they have such wonderful relationships with your kids. You can tell which one he rubbed off on the most though, huh?? Hint.... "What a dipsh**" Any guesses?? I can just see his cute little face!! Remember the first time I went over there and he proudly looks at me, with a huge smile on his face, and says, "Hi! Did you know I cuss?" ha ha Have a wonderful time in sunny Florida!! I'm so very jealous.... Don't worry about me, I'll just be sitting around in this gloomy "***tty city". hee hee
You deffinatly have an excentric dad! But then again that is how us country folks are. And he is totally right about the city. Not sure how all are kids decided that is the place to be. oh ya, maybe it was the Job thing. I too think he is amazing, except when he is teasing. Not sure where he got that from. Maybe his dad!
I love this post! Sounds like your dad is an incredible guy. I know how hard it is to live away from family, especially your parents. When my dad moved to St.George I didn't think it would be so bad, but I'm here to tell you that I hate it. I miss him and worry about him all the time. Hope you had a great time in Flordia! Let us know how Macee did. We are all cheering for her!
Sorry, one more thing...I'm kind of freaking out because of the baby ticker on the side. You are at the very end and I can't believe it! I'm sure you can, but I can still remember sitting at the game and you telling us you were expecting! Can't wait!
I was just reading Jess' comment there...and I, too, remember you telling everyone you were having another little one. (and your funny story about going to the doctor....) I can't believe how time has flown by!! This little Yankee baby, even if he has a BRAVE name...will be SO LOVED!! ;o)
