Ode to Heartburn

Here I am, 4:30 in the morning. Another restless night of sleep due to my friend "heart-burn". I must say, 6 pregnancies and this would be the first where I have experienced any type of heart-burn at all. It has kept me up all hours of the night for the last week. I at first thought it was the Cafe Rio but have now decided it really does not matter what I eat. Oh well, 3 short (ya right) weeks and we will have a baby. So I am really debating on the name. I kinda had my heart set on Mattingly and the more I throw around the name Murphy, the more I really like it. We also went to a UV luncheon where Dale Murphy was the guest speaker and what a cool man he is. So... I guess we have a few weeks. I have just never been this close without having a name picked out. Eric rolls his eyes every time I ask him about it!

I love the name Mattingly, too....and we're big fans of his. BUT!! After you told me about what happened with Dale Murphy...I think it must be meant to be your baby's name. He IS an awesome guy. As for the heartburn....BE CAREFUL. If it gets too bad, don't ignore it. My doctor had to give me a prescription for the last two pregnancies because it was so painful and IRRITATING. I took Protonix and it worked really well. A pill a day and NO heartburn.... Heartburn stinks. I loved reading that baseball post you did below....and I think it's great that you can keep in touch with Eric's players and families. You guys are awesome, and I'm so glad to have you as friends. :o) By the way, I thought you looked great the other day!! I know you don't listen to me....but you looked RELAXED and so pretty. I seriously loved your hair, even though you said it was "messy". When I'm pregnant....I don't look like that at all. It's a sad sight. ha ha Talk to you soon!

Jess, beau voted mattingly ( I am sure if there was fill in the blank he would have went with boston or possibly red sox) of corse you know I voted and it was definintly YANKEE. Good luck the next three weeks!! Good luck to Eric with baseball, and I send my condolences to you and good luck to you this season!!! We miss you!

Hey Jess, hate to rain on your parade but you know it really dosnt matter what you name him your dad will have a very different unique nick name for him and he may not even remember his real name. I personally voted for murphy. Think of his buddys when they are out playing..... HEY MURPH, it is just really really cute. and it works for an adult as well. Good luck. Just thought I would put my two bits in.

I feel so bad for you and the heartburn! I had it so bad with Devin and it was whenever I ate cupcakes. Okay, I know your thinking then don't eat them, but they were the only thing that sounded good so I ate them all the time ad just suffered! I think Mattingly and Murphy are both great names and he will be cute no matter what name you choose! I too loved the post about baseball. Craig and I always say that the relationships with the guys he played baseball with are different than any other one that we have. They become your family and it doesn't matter how long it has been since we have seen them, we can start talking just like we have seen each other everyday! Eric is such a good guy and I can see why all of his players still have a relationship with him! I think the link on your blog is a great idea. Who would have thought that blogs would be such a great way to keep in touch!
